Motif information:

A Polynesian (native) woman on Matira Beach (more precisely "Matira Point") in a traditional "pareo" and " tiaré" (flower from which the "Monoi Tiaré de Tahiti" oil is made) behind her left ear (it is said who wears the flower behind the left ear is single, who wears it behind the right ear is taken! ). Decisive for me in taking the underlying original photograph was the woman's naturalness and radiated self-confidence - at least that's how I felt at this moment. Immersing myself in the Polynesian culture and approach to life was an incredibly beautiful experience for me on my trip around the world a few years ago, which took me to the South Seas and to Bora Bora. The mostly quiet, grounded and relaxed way of life that I got to know on the various South Sea islands (including Fiji / Fiji, the Cook Islands and French Polynesia), the community life of the people there, which in many places is based on self-sufficiency, frugality seems to me being worth imitating more than ever nowadays! With limited resources, people there live more in harmony with nature and usually only take what they need to live. In my opinion, something that people in the northern hemisphere should also return more to.
