This artwork is based on one of the most famous works by the Belgian surrealist , René Magritte (René Francois Ghislain Magritte: * November 21, 1989 + August 15, 1967) and alienates one of the first " Peacemaker " Colts (Colt Single Action Army) 1870s.

The work plays with two messages, on the one hand with the contradiction between the apparent depiction of the object and the contradictory title, in the sense of Renè Magritte's work "La trahison des images" with the caption "Ceci n'est pas une pipe". On the other hand, it raises the question of whether a gun can ever be a "peacemaker" respectively could it also be a statement!

For me, it comes down to the perception of both individual details of the work and the personal associations of the viewer, as well as how we judge reality with regard to the use/practice of (weapons) violence, including possible contradictory justifications.
